David McMillian Speaks to Rome Chamber of Commerce

December 16 2010

David McMillian speaks to the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce on “Tax Secrets for Improving Profitability.”  This seminar was an introduction into how a business today can add profit to their bottom line profit in a down economy. The educational presentation provided an overview of the many Georgia and Federal tax credits available to businesses. There are 31 Georgia and 28 Federal Tax Credit programs available to businesses. These tax credits add directly to a company’s bottom line profit, which is especially important in today’s down economic times. In addition, several tax credits are retroactive for 3 years, which results in a refund check to the company. The Georgia Retraining tax credit is featured since a company can receive up to ½ of all their training costs, including wages paid, for qualified training, such as software and new or upgraded equipment, as well as quality and technology training. This is only one of the several retroactive tax credits. Hiring credits from $2400 - $9000 per employee were also discussed in this interactive presentation. This presentation was coordinated by Lowell Pratt, Small Business Development Coordinator, Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce.
